Diamond DA40 TDI “Diamond Star”
The Diamond DA40 brings together all the advantages of composite structure, diesel engine efficiency and “glass cockpit” technology into one, easy to fly, 4-seater aircraft.
With full IFR capability, long range, good useful load and extremely low operating costs, the DA40 puts the best in modern technology and design within reach of any PPL-level licensed pilot.
Whether you just want to get airborne for an hour or fly away somewhere for the weekend, our aircraft are available for hire with minimal restrictions.
For any licensed pilot with a Single Engine Piston rating, only differences training is required, all of which is provided by our own expert Flight Instructors.
Horizon Aviation is proud to be one of only five organisations in the UK, that we know of, where pilots can currently hire these aircraft for personal use.

Diamond DA42 TDI “Twin Star”
The Diamond DA42 is the perfect step up for pilots who want to move on to flying multi engine aircraft.
With the fuel burn of a comparable single engined aircraft, but the safety of a second engine, the Twin Star is a hugely capable aircraft.
Not only does it share the modern avionics, ease of handling and modern design of the DA40, it also comes equipped with a comprehensive anti-icing system, leaving you truly prepared for any flight you would ever want to undertake.
If you are interested in learning to fly a multi engine aircraft, we can offer the full MEP Class Rating training in house with our professional Flight Instructors. For those wanting to get the best out of these aircraft, we also offer Instrument Rating and UK IMC Rating training courses.
